School Year Weekend Food Bags

The Fig Tree Outreach Program provides weekend food for Wimberley kids in need. Only one form is needed for all the children in your family, so please include information for each child on the form below. This information is kept confidential between The Fig Tree Outreach Program and WISD. Once your child is signed up, they will receive bags of food each week until they leave the school or until you no longer wish to participate.

Drive-Thru Distributions

Hays County Food Bank provides food at no cost to low-income households and those suffering from some sort of food emergency due to job loss, medical emergencies, disasters, etc. Monthly distributions are now available in Wimberley for the remainder of 2021.

Next Distribution: October 5, 2021

For Drive-Thru Distribution, Clients Must:

  • Clear an area in the trunk of your car or bed of your truck for your food before arriving at the distribution location.
  • Form an orderly line in the marked area of the parking lot.
  • Be ready to provide the name of the account holder for check in.
    • If the person picking up is not the client who is registered, the person picking up MUST be listed as a proxy.
  • Follow all directions of staff members or distribution leaders.
  • When it is your turn, pop your trunk.
    • If your trunk does not open, we will place your food on the hood of your vehicle.
    • You may then get out and put it in your car once our team member has stepped away.
    • We will not put anything in the interior of your car.
  • Treat all persons with respect.
    • If there is an issue, please report it to a staff member.

Free Meals for WISD Students

Wimberley ISD will provide healthy meals for students at every campus this school year (2021-2022) for free. The district does request that all families complete a free and reduced lunch application, (linked below) but it will not affect a child's ability to receive free meals this year.
